Born of Mexican and Indian descent, Ray Anthony Trujillo began studying the violin at age two and the saxophone at age three. He was raised in his parents’ music business called Happi Music Land, where they were dedicated and fully supportive of his musical abilities. As a California native, the Trujillo household was filled with an eclectic array of art. From Bach to Maroon 5 and beyond, a beautiful love for music transcended throughout his early development. At age three, Ray Anthony was diagnosed with the gift of autism. This positively serves him to unite others with his artistic abilities, and his innate skills of memorization and integrity.

He began teaching alongside his father at the age of seven, while simultaneously pursuing his own instrumental studies. So far, he’s accumulated 20 years in the making. This later included collaborations in Worship Arts for 12 years. Ray Anthony was a member of the Sacramento Youth Symphony for over 7 years, earning several principal positions and solo appearances during this period. Later work with the SYS included the annual Summer Chamber Workshop as a student, mentor and later Assistant Coach, performing on multiple occasions at CSU Sacramento and UC Davis. He attended Capital Christian High School in Sacramento, where he was actively involved in orchestra, concert/pep bands, as well as concert/chamber choirs. This lead to collaborative performances at the Association of Christian Schools International (ASCI) held between Jessup and Patten Universities, respectively. During high school, he went to CSU Sacramento to work in multiple university ensembles, ranging from orchestra, small/ large jazz ensembles, including the Latin Jazz Ensemble and Camerata Capistrano.

Noted honors include the 2008 Best of Sacramento Magazine's “Best Musical Multitasker,” Sphinx Competition Finalist, Sacramento News & Review Jammies Competition Winner, Pacific Musical Society Competition Winner, Boston University Tanglewood Institute Honors, and 3rd Place in the VOCE Competition. Ray Anthony has also had the pleasure of playing in the 1st National Youth Orchestra-USA Inaugural Tour and participate in the Classical Music Festival- Eisenstahdt, Austria. Other awards include winning "Best Soloist" at the Sacramento, Monterey New Generation, Reno, and Greeley Jazz Festivals. His professional collaborations include all-star musicians such as Joshua Bell, Rachel Barton Pine, Valery Gergiev, David Allen Miller, Wynton Marsalis, John Fedchock, Dave Pietro, Jeff Hamilton, Glen Cortese, Simon Carrington, Wayne Bergeron, Melissa Aldana, among others.

Ray Anthony relocated to pursue undergraduate work at the University of Northern Colorado, earning his degree in Jazz Studies with a Secondary Emphasis in Violin Performance. Through UNC, he's had the pleasure of collaborating with the Greeley Philharmonic, Fort Collins, Longmont and Cheyenne Symphonies, along with the Greeley and Larimer Chorales. This included working the likes of Colorado locals such as Mark Sloniker, Ryan Fourt, Tom Amend, Dana Landry, Erik Applegate, Harumi Rhodes, Andrew Dahlke, Brian Luedloff, Margaret Roper-Gutierrez, Russell Guyver, as well as curating musical entertainment programs for senior care facilities. He has also taken up a second career in law enforcement at the Weld County Sheriff’s Office. He holds the position of Control Center Technician, ensuring the surveillance of the North Jail Complex–thus maintaining the safety and security of the surrounding County jurisdictions.
